Richmond KY March 6th

Lexington Catholic  (17-14)  vs.  Scott County  (16-14) (Semifinal)  -  Scott County, fueled by connecting on 17 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter pulled away in the closing minutes to defeat Lexington Catholic 69-60.  Scott Count raced out to a 19-8 lead early in the second period but LexCath fought back to tie the score 51-51 in the final period but the Lady Cardinals rallied for the victory.  Three LexCath players Danielle Corbett, Octavia Wilson, and Alex Botkin fouled out in the final quarter.

Scott County shot 42.9% from the field including one of five from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 26 of 34 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 26% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 18 of 28 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Scott County turnovers.  The Lady Knights attempted 24 more field goal attempts (73-49) than Scott County.

5-11 Jr. Madisen Webb led Scott County with 20 points including 16 of 16 from the free throw line and dished out eight assists.  5-9 So. Kristen Stainback added 18 points.  5-9 So. Alex McKenzie chipped in with 10 points and 17 rebounds.  5-10 7th grader Tereka Guyn recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

5-7 Jr. Anna Gayle Scott led Lexington Catholic with 16 points.  5-8 Sr. Danielle Corbett added 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 Sr. Maggie Wilson chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Fr. Alex Botkin recorded six points and 10 rebounds.  5-9 Sr. Shaneque McGhee added five points and 14 rebounds.

Franklin County (24-6)  vs.  Lexington Christian Academy (27-4) (Semifinal)  -  LCA exploded out of the gate to lead 37-7 at halftime on their way to a 67-40 victory over Franklin County.  LCA shot 50% from the field including five of 19 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 22 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 28.6% from the game including only 9.5% in the first half and was zero of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 21 LCA turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Courtney Clifton led LCA with 22 points.  5-10 Sr. Anna Martin added 20 points.  6-2 Jr. Sarah Beth Barnette recorded 15 points and 11 rebounds.

5-10 So. Chelsea Craig led Franklin County with 11 points and eight rebounds.
