6th Region Tournament Bellarmine University (Girls)

Louisville KY March 6th

Iroquois  (27-1)  vs.  Bullitt East  (23-8)  (Semifinal)  -  Iroquois scored 22 points off 19 Bullitt East turnovers in a 58-45 victory.  Iroquois shot 42.6% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on 16 of 32 free throws, pulled down 35  rebounds and held a 16-5 advantage in second chance points.  Bullitt East shot 44.4% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Chargers connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Iroquois turnovers.

5-9 Sr. Adia Mathies led Iroquois with 16 points and nine rebounds.  5-5 Sr. Stafonia Taylor and 5-5 Sr. Kayla Hickman added 12 and 10 points respectively.  5-8 Sr. Meka Birdsong recorded nine points and seven rebounds.

5-9  jr. Kayla Thacker led Bullitt East with 10 points and eight rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Chelsey Smith added eight points and six rebounds.

Butler  (18-6)  vs  Fairdale  (12-17)  (Semifinal)  -  Butler defeated Fairdale 44-43 in overtime.  Butler shot 35.2% from the field including only one of 15 from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on five of 16 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 15 points off  21 Fairdale turnovers.  Butler held a 21-2 advantage in bench scoring.  fairdale shot 37% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on five of 17 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 19 Butler turnovers.

5-7 Jr. Whitney Reed led Butler with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Daijia Ruffin added 13 points.  5-6 So. Heather Wheat recorded four points and eight rebounds.

5-7 Sr. Kayla Thompson led Fairdale with 18 points including three three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.  5-5 Jr. We'Nisha Mack added 18 points and six rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Jreyanna Warfield recorded three points and 11 rebounds.
