Richmond KY March 7th

Lafayette ( 11-18)  vs.  Scott County  (27-3)  (Semifinal)  -  Lafayette led 51-50 at the end of three quarters but Scott County rallied to defeat the Generals by a score of 78-68.  This was accomplished without the services of 6-8 Sr. Richie Phares who suffered a knee injury in the first half and could not return for the second half.  Scott County held a 26-15 advantage in free throw points.

Scott County shot 55.3% from the field including zero of four from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 26 of 39 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 35.3% from the field including five of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 17 Scott County turnovers.

6-8 Jr. Dakotah Euton led Scott County with 25 points including 13 of 15 free throws and pulled down eight rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Ge-Lawn Guyn added 15 points.  6-4 Jr. Chad Jackson chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.  6-1 Fr. Isiah Ivey recorded 11 points.

5-11 Jr. Mike Walker led Lafayette with 18 points and five rebounds.  6-4 So. Tanner Napier added 16 points.  6-1 So. Dee Yarbrough chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds.

Lexington Catholic  (23-7)  vs.  Madison Central  (19-11)  (Semifinal)  -  Lexington Catholic raced out to a 25-6 first quarter lead on their way to a 75-62 victory over Madison Central.  Lexington Catholic shot 52.6% from the field including five of 10 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 21 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 38.5% from the field including 17 of 27 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

6-3 Sr. Vee Sanford led Lexington Catholic with 30 points and six rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Taylor Botkin added 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals.  6-3 Scott Schuette chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.

5-7 Sr. Tyler Mays led Madison Central with 20 points.  6-1 Sr. Keshawn Simpson added 16 points and nine rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Vince Clay recorded 10 points including three three point baskets.
