LCA Lady Eagles (2-1)  at Lexington Catholic Lady Knights (0-3) (Girls) December 10, 2009

LCA coach Jason Seamands started the following lineup:6-1Sr. Sarah Beth Barnette, 5-11 Jr. Kelli Rhinehart, 6-0 So. Kristen Jacob, 5-5 Jr. Rachel Cox, and 5-5 So. Kelli Mitchuson.  Lexington Catholic coach Tony Talbott countered with 5-8 Fr. Octavia Wilson, 5-11 So. Alex Botkin, 5-11 Sr. Madison Smith, 5-5 Sr. Meghan Cawood, and 5-6 Sr. Anna Gayle Scott.

Lexington Catholic won their first game of the season with a hard fought 62-54 victory over Lexington Christian Academy.  LCA pulled to within two; 56-54 late in the final quarter but Meghan Cawood hit four free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory.  Lexington Catholic held an impressive 41-28 advantage in rebounds and shot a blistering 53.3% (8-15) from the three point line.

Lexington Catholic shot 37.3% from the field including eight of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 22 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 39% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Octavia wilson led the victors with 25 points including six three point baskets and recorded five steals.  5-9 Sr. Lexi Mullikan came off the bench to record 12 points and eight rebounds.  Alex Botkin added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Sarah Beth Barnette led LCA with 23 points including five three point baskets and pulled down seven rebounds.  Kristen Jacob added 16 points and 11 rebounds.  5-7 8th grader Katelin Bundy came off the bench to add eight points.
