Bryan Station coach Champ Ligon Jr. started the following lineup:6-6 Sr. Phillip Barner, 6-6 Jr. James Evans, 6-11 Sr. Andrew Adams, 6-2 Jr. Dean Renfro, and 6-1 Sr. Mike Baffour. Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. countered with 6-1 Jr. Jared Pyatt, 6-0 Jr. Brenton Covington, 6-2 Jr. Nick Ford, 5-10 So. Casey Schneider, and 6-0 Fr. Dominique Hawkins.
Bryan Station rallied from a 43-26 deficit early in the third quarter to defeat Madison Central 65-60. The third quarter was decisive as Bryan Station outscored Madison Central 20-5 to take a 46-45 lead entering the final period. Bryan Station held a 36-10 advantage in bench scoring and enjoyed a 43-28 advantage in rebounds.
Bryan Station shot 45.5% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line. The Defenders connected on 11 of 20 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 10 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 40% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Bryan Station turnovers.
James Evans led Bryan Station with 21 points, 17 rebounds, and five blocked shots. 6-0 Sr. Joe Fain added 20 points and seven assists.
Talented freshman Domonique Hawkins led Madison Central with 30 points and six rebounds. Jared Pyatt and 6-4 So. Hunter Allen added nine and eight points respectively.
