Paul L. Dunbar  vs.  Lafayette January 5, 2010

Paul Dunbar coach Carl “Redd” Hutchinson started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Sean Lamanna, 6-3 Jr. Lamont Johnson, 6-7 Sr. Bryce With, 5-10 Jr. Clay Coyle, and 5-7 Fr. Paul Jones.  Lafayette coach Greg Coldiron countered with 6-4 Jr. Tanner Napier, 6-2 Sr. Domonique Hagans, 6-7 8^th grader Jackson Davis, 6-1 Jr. D’Angelo Yarbrough, and 5-11 Sr. Eric Shaw.

Lafayette led 59-34 late in the third quarter and held on down the stretch to defeat Dunbar 68-60.  Dunbar outscored Lafayette 21-9 in the final quarter to make the game close.  Lafayette scored 36 points off 28 Dunbar turnovers.

Lafayette shot 38.5% from the field including six of 22 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 12 of 17 free throws and pulled down 32 rebounds.  Dunbar shot 41.4% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 48 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.  Dunbar held a 19-4 advantage in second chance points.

Domonique Hagans led Lafayette with 19 points.  Tanner Napier added 16 points including four three point baskets.  Eric Shaw and D’Angelo Yarbrough chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.  Jackson Davis pulled down 12 rebounds.

5-11 Fr. William Gary and Lamont Johnson led a balanced Dunbar attack with 12 and 11 points respectively.  6-5 Jr. Josh Page recorded eight points and 11 rebounds.
