Lexington Catholic (6-6)  vs.  Sacred Heart Academy (6-6) January 5, 2010

Lexington Catholic coach Tony Talbott started the following lineup:  5-11 So. Alex Botkin, 5-8 Fr. Octavia Wilson, 6-0 So. Liz Walton, 5-6 Sr. Anna Gayle Scott, and 5-5 Sr. Meghan Cawood.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 Sr. Mary Gordon Stough, 5-10 Jr. Monica McGreal, 5-10 Jr. Morgan Clemons, 5-4 Jr. Maddie Peabody, and 5-5 Jr. Hannah Washle.

SHA defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 62-52.  The victors held a 33-18 advantage in free throw points.  Sacred Heart also held a 20-12 advantage in bench scoring.

SHA shot 29.5% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 33 of 46 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 27 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 33.3% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 28 SHA turnovers.

Morgan Clemons led the victors with 17 points including 13 of 15 from the free throw line.  Clemons also pulled down 10 rebounds.  Mary Gordon Stough and 5-5 Jr. Katie Bishop added eight points each.  5-11 Jr. Annamarie Campbell chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds.

Alex Botkin and Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 15 and 14 points respectively.  5-9 So. Jill Maronde added eight points.
