January 30th Day 4 Session fetaures both the girls and boys semifinals.
Holy Cross (Louisville) 59 Owensboro Catholic 47 (Girls) (Semifinal) – Holy Cross outscored Owensboro Catholic 16-8 in the second quarter in a 59-47 victory. Holy Cross held a 39-27 advantage in rebounds and a 12-6 advantage in second chance points. 6-2 Sr. Olivia Moore led the victors with 19 points and seven rebounds. 5-7 Sr. Robin Deckard added 15 points including three three point baskets. 5-8 Sr. Lindsey Roarx recorded 11 points and 13 rebounds. 5-9 Sr. Rachel Richardson dished out nine assists. 5-11 Fr. Becca Greenwell led Owensboro Catholic with 23 points and seven rebounds. 5-6 Sr. Kaley Robertson added 15 points and six rebounds.
Newport Central Catholic 71 Murray 49 (Girls) (Semifinal) – Newport Central Catholic played an excellent floor game today as they scored 22 points off 23 Murray turnovers and only committed five turnovers. The Thoroughbreds got off to a quick start as they led Murray 19-8 after the first quarter. 5-4 Jr. Hannah Thiem led the victors with 17 points inclusing three three point baskets. 5-11 Sr. Mariah Tabor added 16 points and six rebounds. 5-6 Jr. Kiley Bartels chipped in with 14 points and seven assists. 5-6 Sr. Courtney Sandfoss recorded 13 points, seven assists, and seven steals. 5-6 Fr. Janssen Starks led Murray with 14 points including two three point baskets. 5-9 So. Haley Armstrong added 12 points and six rebounds.
DeSales 67 Glasgow 58 OT (Boys) (Semifinal) – DeSales outscored Glasgow 14-5 in overtime to earn the victory. DeSales held a 25-12 advantage in free throw points and a 24-6 advantage in three point points. Glasgow enjoyed a 42-34 margin in rebounds and a 21-9 advantage in second chance points. 6-2 Sr. Derek Thornsberry and 6-4 Sr. Brandon Ritchie led DeSales with 20 and 17 points respectively. 6-1 Sr. Cameron Hall led Glasgow with 33 points. 6-0 Jr. Kerrington Bradley added 15 points and nine rebounds. 6-2 Jr. Michael Bradley pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Shelby Valley 67 University Heights 54 (Boys) (Semifinal) – Shelby Valley outscored University Heights 21-12 in the final quarter to pull away for the victory. 5-10 Sr. Elisha Justice led Shelby Valley with 25 points. 6-6 Sr. Ashley Hatfield added 18 points and 10 rebounds. 6-4 Sr. Tyler Newsome chipped in with 16 points and six rebounds. 6-0 Jr. Matt McGowan led University Heights with 24 points. 6-3 Jr. Ryan Hudson added 18 points including three three point baskets and pulled down eight rebounds.
