Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-11 Fr. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Jr. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Sr. Brislyn Sizemore, 5-5 Fr. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Jr. Erica Parks. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-8 Sr. Lisa Hack, 5-7 Sr. Ali Ross, 6-0 Sr. Morgan Walker, 5-4 Sr. Jameka Gillespie, and 5-3 Jr. Jariana Gillespie.
Madison Central came into this game heavily favored but needed two free throws with 10 seconds on the clock by Larryn Brooks to give them a 49-47 victory. Lafayette had one last look at the basket but the shot bounced off the rim. Madison Central appeared to have the game under control with a 47-37 lead in the final quarter but Lafayette stormed back and tied the game at 47-47 on two late three point bombs by Lisa Hack and Ali Ross.
Madison Central shot 50% from the field including four of eight from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on 11 of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers. The Lady Indians held a 24-4 advantage in bench scoring. Lafayette shot 32.2% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on two of four free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 28 Madison Central turnovers.
5-7 Sr. Iesha Farris led a balanced Madison Central attack with nine points. 5-11 Sr. Kaity Busch added seven points. Erica Parks, Jenna Cornelison, and Larryn Brooks chipped in with six points each. Brislyn Sizemore recorded four points and 13 rebounds.
Ali Ross led Lafayette with 18 points including four thee point baskets. Lisa Hack added 14 points including thee three point baskets. Morgan Walker recorded five points and nine rebounds. Jariana Gillespie had seven steals for the game.
