West Jessamine coach Damon Kelley started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. David Elliott, 6-4 Jr. Dylan Pohl, 6-4 Sr. Gus Sherrow, 5-11 Sr. Kyle Mefford, and 6-3 Sr. Jarrod Polson. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Jr. Trae Stewart, 6-0 Jr. Brandon Nichols, 6-5 Jr. Daniel Kiesling, 5-10 Sr. Marquel Johnson, and 5-8 So. Wes Kimball.
West Jessamine raced out to a 17-4 first quarter lead in a 60-50 victory over Henry Clay. West Jessamine shot 46.3% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line. The Colts connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 45.7% from the field including six of 15 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils connected on two of five free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off three West Jessamine turnovers.
Gus Sherrow led West jessamine with 24 points including four three point baskets. Kyle Mefford added 11 points including three three point baskets. Jarrod Polson dished out eight assists.
Daniel Kiesling led Henry Clay with 12 points and 10 rebounds. 6-4 jr. Ryan Patton added 12 points on four three point baskets. Trae Stewart chipped in with 10 points. Wes Kimball recorded eight points and five assists.
