Lexington Catholic  (14-13)  vs.  Paul Dunbar  (19-6)  (Girls)

Paul Dunbar’s Ebony Rowe hit one of two free throws with 4.5 seconds left on the clock to give the Lady Bulldogs a 46-45 victory over Lexington Catholic.  The Lady Knights had one last look at the basket but missed the shot.  Dunbar led 34-25 after three quarters but Lexington Catholic rallied to tie the score at 45-45.  Dunbar turned the ball over 28 times but Lexington Catholic was only eight of 18 from the free throw line.  LexCath had no answer for Dunbar’s 6-0 Sr. Ebony Rowe as she recorded 26 points, 24 rebounds, five blocked shots, and three steals.

Dunbar shot 39% from the field including two of nine from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored eight points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 29.3% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on only eight of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 28 Dunbar turnovers.

Ebony Rowe led Dunbar with 26 points and 24 rebounds.  5-4 Sr. Kristi McIntosh added eight points including two three point baskets.

5-9 Sr. Lexi Mullikin came off the bench to lead LexCath with 16 points.  5-11 So. Liz Walton added eight points and six rebounds.  Mullikin was especially impressive during LexCath’s comeback effort in the final quarter when she tallied nine points.

Lexington Christian Academy  (16-10)  vs.  Tates Creek  (17-6)  (Boys)

Tates Creek delighted an enthusiastic home crowd with a 68-54 victory over LCA.  Tates Creek shot 57.5% from the field including three of eight from the three point line.  The Commodores connected on 19 of 30 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 46.2% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on ine of three free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Tates Creek turnovers.

6-2 Jr. Ryan Fucci led Tates Creek with 25 points and eight rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Marcellus Barksdale added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.  6-4 Sr. Ezra Garner chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.

6-1 Sr. Branden Burdette led LCA with 16 points on eight of 10 from the field.  6-0 So. Taylor Barnette added 14 points including two three point baskets.  6-7 Sr. Will Evans recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
