44th District Tournament (Boys and Girls)

Madison Central  (25-1)  vs.  Berea  (9-15)  (Girls)

Madison Central raced out to a 26-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 65-24 victory over Berea.  Fifteen players saw action for the Lady Indians tonight with minutes ranging from 8:13 to 12:53.

Madison Central shot 37.7% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 36 points off 37 Berea turnovers.  Berea shot 25.7% from the field including one of three from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pirates connected on five of 11 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.5-9 Jr. Jenna Cornelison led Madison Central with 13 points including three three point baskets.  5-10 Sr. Brislyn Sizemore added 12 points.  5-11 Sr. Kaity Busch chipped in with 10 points.

5-5 Jr. Rachel Wilder led Berea with 15 points.  5-10 So. Sophia Shearer pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Madison Central  (8-20)  vs.  Berea  (12-14)  (Boys)

Madison Central defeated Berea by a score of 58-35.  Madison Central shot 41.7% from the field including zero of eight from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 18 of 27 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 16 Berea turnovers.  Berea shot 30.2% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Pirates connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.

6-4 So. Hunter Allen led Madison Central with 17 points and seven rebounds.  6-0 Fr. Domonique Hawkins added 12 points and six rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Nick Ford recorded eight points and 13 rebounds.

5-11 Sr. Jeremy Hamilton led Berea with 10 points and eight rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Nathan Vaughn also recorded 10 points.
