Lexington Christian Academy (20-6) vs. Tates Creek (16-11) (Girls)
Lexington Christian Academy’s Sarah Beth Barnette hit a field goal in the closing seconds to give LCA a 53-52 victory over Tates Creek. Tates Creek had one final opportunity but missed a shot at the buzzer. Tates Creek led 48-35 in the third quarter but LCA closed the quarter with a 13-0 run to tie the game at 48-48 entering the final quarter. Tates Creek could not hit their free throws down the stretch which led to their downfall.
LCA shot 41.2% from the field including nine of 22 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 42.3% from the field including five of nine from the three point line. The Lady Commodores connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 20 LCA turnovers.
6-2 Sr. Sarah Beth Barnette led LCA with 17 points including three three point baskets and pulled down 11 rebounds. 5-11 Jr. Kelli Rinehart added 12 points and six rebounds. 5-7 8th grader Katelin Bundy chipped in with 10 points. 5-5 Jr. Rachel Cox recorded nine points on three three point baskets and dished out seven assists.
5-8 Sr. Lizza Jonas led Tates Creek with 17 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and five steals. 5-6 Fr. Dominique Etling-Turner added 12 points including two three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds. 5-7 Fr. Katie Pippen chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds. Tates Creek was also hampered with another injury as 5-4 Fr. Guard Oney Harrison missed tonight’s game.

Lafayette (20-6) vs. Tates Creek (19-6) (Boys)
Tates Creek pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Lafayette by a score of 59-48. Tates Creek shot 44.7% from the field including two of five from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 23 of 27 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored six points off six Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 31.7% from the field including four of 21 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on four of six free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 20 Tates Creek turnovers.
6-2 Jr. Ryan Fucci led Tates Creek with 19 points including 10 of 12 from the free throw line. 6-5 Sr. Miles Potter came up big tonight with 14 points and eight rebounds. Potter was four of five from the field and six of six from the free throw line. 6-3 Jr. Marcellus Barksdale recorded eight points and 14 rebounds.
6-2 Sr. Domonique Hagans led Lafayette with 16 points and 10 rebounds. 5-11 Sr. John Burton added 11 points and 6-1 Sr. Michael walker chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets.
