2010 44th District Tourney Championships (Boys and Girls)

Madison Central  (26-1)  vs.  Model  (14-12)  (Girls)

Madison Central raced out to a 52-15 halftime lead on their way to an 87-44 victory over Model.  Fifteen players saw action for Madison Central tonight with thirteen players entering the scoring column.

Madison Central shot 50.7% from the field including two of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 42 points off 34 Model turnovers.  Model shot 37.8% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 Madison Central turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Kaity Busch led the victors with 17 points and eight rebounds in only 12:28 minutes of playing time.  6-0 Fr. Ashton Feldhaus and 5-9 Jr. Jenna Cornelison added 13 and 10 points respectively.

5-9 Sr. Shelby McNeely led Model with 14 points and five rebounds.  5-6 Sr. Shelby Schneid added nine points on three three point baskets.

Madison Central  (9-20)  vs.  Madison Southern  (20-9)  (Boys)

The score was tied 22-22 at halftime but Madison Central pulled away in the second half for a 59-45 victory over Madison Southern.  Madison Central shot 46.5% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 16 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off eight Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 28.9% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored nine points off seven Madison Central turnovers.

6-0 Fr. Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.  6-0 Jr. Brenton Covington added 14 points including two three point baskets.  6-4 So. Hunter Allen recorded seven points and nine rebounds.

5-9 Sr. Carrington Roberts led Madison Southern with 13 points.  6-1 Jr. Aaron Ponder added 12 points including three three point baskets.  6-5 Sr. Joey Wallace chipped in with nine points and 11 rebounds.
