2010 6th Region Tournament (Girls)  Day 1

Atherton High School

Louisville, KY

March 2nd, 2010

 

Presentation  (10-19)  vs.  Louisville Holy Cross  (24-7)  (Girls)

Holy Cross defeated Presentation by a score of 78-54.  Holy Cross shot 49.2% from the field including twp of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Cougars connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 22 Presentation turnovers.  Presentation shot 33.3% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Toppers connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 Holy Cross turnovers.

5-7 Sr. Robin Deckard led Holy Cross with 20 points including two three point baskets.  5-8 Sr. Lindsey Roarx added 14 points and 11 rebounds.  5-8 So. Maya Hardin chipped in with 12 points.  6-2 Sr. Olivia Moore recorded 11 points and six rebounds.

5-7 So. Bailey Reeder led Presentation with 17 points including four three point baskets.  5-3 Sr. Sarah Davis added 15 points including three three point baskets and pulled down seven rebounds.

Iroquois  (7-17)  vs.  Bullitt East  (25-3)  (Girls)

Bullitt East raced out to a 33-9 halftime lead on their way to a 57-31 victory over Iroquois.  Bullitt East shot 36.2% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Chargers connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 22 Iroquois turnovers.  Iroquois shot 20.9% from the field including two of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 19 Bullitt East turnovers.

5-11 Sr. Kayla Thacker led Bullitt East with 13 points including eight of 10 free throws.  5-9 Sr. Jade Troutman added 10 points including two three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Twelve Lady Chargers entered the scoring column.

5-8 Sr. Stephanie Malone led Iroquois with nine points and 10 rebounds.  5-5 Jr. Brittanie Glasser added seven points.  5-8 Sr. Victoria Brown chipped in with five points and eight rebounds.

Butler  (18-8)  vs.  Fairdale  (12-11)  (Girls)

Butler defeated Fairdale by a score of 58-40.  Butler shot 47.9% from the field including one of seven from the three point line.  The Bearettes connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 21 Fairdale turnovers.  Fairdale shot 32.6% from the field including two of six from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Butler turnovers.

5-7 Fr. Aareon Smith led Butler with 18 points and nine rebounds.  5-6 Jr. Heather Wheat added 12 points.  5-8 Jr. Megan Cureton chipped in with nine points.

6-1 Sr. Brittney Turner led Fairdale with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  5-10 Fr. Ally Maguire added nine points including two three point baskets.  5-4 Sr. Wenisha Mack chipped in with seven points.

Fairdale (40) – Ashby 0, Maguire 9, Turner 17, Mack 7, Gaines 3, Keown 2, Lee 2.

Butler (58) – Smith 18, Cureton 9, Corey 4, Wheat 12, Martinez 2, Moore 6, Stallard 3, Schweitzer 2, Lawrence 2.

 

Pleasure Ridge Park  (11-14)  vs.  Central  (17-8)  (Girls)

Central defeated Pleasure Ridge Park by a score of 56-25.  Central shot 46.8% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Jackets connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 24 Pleasure Ridge Park turnovers.  Pleasure Ridge Park shot 20.9% from the field including zero of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 17 Central turnovers.

5-8 Jr. Brianna Averette led Central with 23 points including four three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  5-5 Sr. Shaneal Brents added 10 points.

5-7 Fr. Kelsey Adwell led Pleasure Ridge Park with nine points and nine rebounds.  5-7 Sr. Adrienne McGhee added five points and seven rebounds.
