11th Region Boys Championship

Lafayette  (22-6)  vs.  Scott County  (26-6)

Scott County jumped out to a 21-6 first quarter lead and played well the entire game in a 76-50 victory over a good Lafayette squad.  Scott County’s defense was impressive tonight as they scored 29 points off 21 Lafayette turnovers and recorded 14 steals and seven blocked shots.

Scott County shot 49.2% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 13 of 20 free throws and  pulled down 39 rebounds.  Lafayette shot 36.5% from the field including six of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored eight points off 15 Scott County turnovers.

6-2 Sr. Ge-Lawn Guyn led a balanced Scott County attack with 18 points, four assists, and four blocked shots.  6-8 Sr. Dakotah Euton added 16 points and 12 rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Chad Jackson chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.  6-3 Sr. Austin Flannery also recorded 10 points.  6-3 So. Tamron Manning added nine points, six rebounds, and six steals.  6-4 Jr. Tanner Shotwell also recorded nine points.

6-7 8th grader Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 16 points and five rebounds.  6-1 Sr. Michael Walker added 11 points including two three point baskets.  6-2 Sr. Domonique Hagans chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Sr. John Burton recorded nine points on three three point baskets.
