Girls’ Sweet Sixteen® State Basketball Tournament

Scott County  (26-8)  vs.  Mercy Academy  (26-8)  (Championship)

Mercy outscored Scott County 20-13 in the third quarter on their way to a 71-61 victory.  Mercy shot 34.8% from the field including two of 14 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 23 of 26 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 19 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 40% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Mercy turnovers.

5-8 Jr. Juliann Miller led Mercy with 23 points and eight rebounds.  5-9 Sr. Ellen Sholtes added 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  5-8 Sr. Malisa Cruz chipped in with 14 points including two three point baskets, pulled down 12 rebounds, and recorded four steals.  5-11 So. Courtney Roush recorded six points and seven rebounds.

5-10 Jr. Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 26 points.  5-10 Sr. Madisen Webb added 12 points and eight rebounds.  5-9 Jr. Alex McKenzie recorded eight points and 13 rebounds.
