Muhlenberg County  (20-10)  vs.  West Jessamine  (26-7)

West Jessamine only led 64-62 late in the game but closed out the game with a 9-1 run to earn a 73-63 victory over Muhlenberg County.  West Jessamine led 53-41 after three quarters but Muhlenberg County rallied to make it interesting down the stretch.

West Jessamine shot 59% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Colts connected on 23 of 40 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 11 Muhlenberg County turnovers.  Muhlenberg County shot 36.1% from the field including five of 30 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 10 West Jessamine turnovers.  Muhlenberg County attempted 22 more shots from the field (61-39) than West Jessamine.

6-3 Sr. Jarrod Polson led West Jessamine with 32 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Polson was 10 of 13 from the field and 12 of 20 from the free throw line.  6-2 Sr. David Elliott added 13 points and seven rebounds.  6-2 Sr. Gus Sherrow chipped in with 10 points.

6-4 Sr. Joe Gabbard led Muhlenberg County with 22 points and five rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Josh Hawkins, 5-9 Jr. Michael Civils, and 6-1 So. Tiger Warford added 10 nine, and eight points respectively.

Shelby Valley  (28-4)  vs.  Paducah Tilghman  (27-6)

Shelby Valley easily defeated Paducah Tilghman by a score of 68-45.  Shelby Valley shot 50% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 19 Paducah Tilghman turnovers.  Paducah Tilghman shot 36.4% from the field including two of 10 from beyond the arc.  Paducah Tilghman connected on three of seven free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds and scored 13 points off 12 Shelby Valley turnovers.

6-3 Sr. Taylor Newsome led Shelby Valley with 22 points and seven rebounds.  Newsome was 10 of 13 from the field including one of one from the three point line and one of two from the free throw line.  5-10 Sr. Elisha Justice added 21 points including three three point baskets and dished out nine assists and pulled down six rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Tyler Newsome chipped in with 15 points including three three point baskets.

6-4 Jr. Josh Forrest led Paducah Tilghman with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  6-0 Sr. Johny Harmon added 10 points.

North Hardin (27-4)  vs.  Mason County  (23-6)

Jordan Gilbert hit a runner in the lane with approximately four seconds left in overtime to give Mason County a 58-56 victory over North Hardin.  Mason County led 17-7 after the first quarter but North Hardin rallied to force overtime.

Mason County shot 36.8% from the field including only one of 12 from the three point line.  The Royals connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 13 North Hardin turnovers.  North Hardin shot 41.7% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Trojans connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Mason County turnovers.

5-10 Jr. Jordan Gilbert, 6-2 Sr. Bradley Lang, and 5-10 sr. Justin Lang led Mason County with 12, 12, and 10 points respectively.  6-5 Sr. Rheuben Bluford added nine points and 14 rebounds.

6-4 Sr. James Berry led North Hardin with 20 points and 10 rebounds.  6-5 Sr. Nigel Phelps added 15 points.

North Hardin (56) – Berry 20, Phelps 15, Roosevelt Emerson 5, Brangers 0, Ruttley 9, Rolondo Emerson 5, Hendrix 2.

Mason County (58) – Setty 7, B. Lang 12, Bluford 9, Gilbert 12, J. Lang 10, Pawsat 4, Black 4.

 

Knott County Central  (26-6)  vs.  Butler  (19-11)

Knott County Central could not get their long range shots to fall tonight and was defeated 57-46 by Butler.  Butler led 30-17 at halftime but Knott County Central rallied to only trail 36-35 entering the final quarter.  However Butler pulled away for good in the final period.

Butler shot 49 % from the game including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Bears connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 Knott County Central turnovers.  Knott County Central shot 32.1% from the field including four of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Patriots connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored four points off nine Butler turnovers.

6-1 Sr. Thomas Blakemore led Butler with 17 points.  6-0 Jr. Demetrius Butler and 5-11 Fr. Demetrius McReynolds added 13 and 11 points respectively.  6-1 Sr. Darius Stone pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.

6-1 Sr. Stuart Stamper led Knott County Central with 10 points including two three point baskets.  6-4 Jr. Mikey Slone, 6-1 Sr. Tate Cox, and 6-2 So. Zack Davis added nine, eight, and seven points respectively.  Davis also pulled down 10 rebounds.

Knott County Central (46) – Ratliff 6, Davis 7, Roberts 3, Stuart 10, Cox 8, Mullins 3, Slone 9.
