Male (10-3)  vs.  Scott County (10-3)

6A Playoffs Semifinal

Male parlayed a strong running game (255 yards on 45 carries for three touchdowns) in a 28-12 victory over Scott County.  Male recorded 16 first downs and 299 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 51 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Scott County recorded 11 first downs and 166 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized 11 times for 105 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Troy Denning led Male’s ground game with 116 yards on 19 carries.  Jalon Kemp added 100 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  John Giddens carried the ball 14 times for 44 yards and two touchdowns.  Tyler Adams completed three of 14 passes for 44 yards with one interception.  Tyler Pope caught two passes for 33 yards.  Jalon Kemp led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Eric Palmer added four solo and five assisted tackles with four of his tackles resulting in losses totalling 16 yards.

Marcus Hill led Scott County’s ground game with 106 yards on 15 carries.  Ben Lawler completed seven of 16 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  James Happy caught five passes for 59 yards.  Nick Smith caught a 14 yard touchdown pass.  Cody Campbell led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles.  Avery Ford added four solo tackles, two assisted tackles, and one interception.
