Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Danny Yackey, 6-4 Sr. DeVante Parker, 6-5 Fr. Kelan Martin, 5-10 So. Lavonne Holland, and 5-11 Fr. Quentin Snider. Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-4 Sr. Tanner Shotwell, 6-2 Jr. Josh Harris, 6-4 Jr. Tamron Manning, 6-0 So. Quin Richardson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Ivey.
Ballard raced out to a 25-8 first quarter lead, led 57-41 after three quarters, and withstood a furious Scott County rally in the final period to capture a 77-73 victory. Ballard shot 36.4% from the field including eight of 30 from the three point line. The Bruins connected on 21 of 29 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, scored 17 points off 20 Scott County turnovers, and had three players foul out of the game. Scott County shot 32.4% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on 25 of 34 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 17 Ballard turnovers.
Quentin Snider led Ballard with 27 points including four thee point baskets and was 11 of 13 from the free throw line. Lavonne Holland added 14 points and seven rebounds. DeVante Parker scored 13 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. Kelan Martin chipped in with 12 points.
Isaiah Ivey led Scott County with 27 points including 12 of 13 from the free throw line and pulled down six rebounds. Tamron Manning added 15 points and six rebounds. Tanner Shotwell recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots. 6-0 Sr. Trey Relford came off the bench to record 13 points.
