DeSales coach John Mingus started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Jake Sliter, 6-4 Sr. Sam Keehner, 5-9 Jr. Brandon Brooks, 5-9 Sr. Corbin Maynard, and 6-0 Sr. Robbie Odle. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-4 Sr. Hunter Porter, 6-5 Jr. Craig Floyd, 6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette, 5-10 Jr. Brian Woomer, and 6-0 Sr. Seth Beckham. (6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin was out with the flu).
Lexington Catholic led 31-29 at halftime, outscored DeSales 22-11 in the third quarter, and defeated DeSales 68-55. Lexington Catholic shot 52.4% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 DeSales turnovers. DeSales shot 42.9% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc. The Colts connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored nine points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Scott Schuette led Lexington Catholic with 23 points. Craig Floyd added 20 points and seven rebounds. Floyd was eight of nine from the field including two of three from the three point line and two of two from the free throw line. Seth Beckham also reached double figures with 10 points.
Brandon Brooks led DeSales with 27 points including five three point baskets. Jake Sliter added 10 points and nine rebounds.
