Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin, 6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette, 6-5 Jr. Craig Floyd, 5-10 Jr. Ross Muncie, and 5-9 So. Dillon Avare. Lexington Christian Academy coach Tommy Huston countered with 6-1 Jr. Patrick Nickodem, 6-2 Sr. Joe Duncan, 6-4 So. Jon Lannertone, 5-10 Sr. Carter Helton, and 6-2 Jr. Taylor Barnette.
Lexington Catholic defeated Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 63-48. Lexington Catholic led 33-13 at halftime but LCA rallied to pull within seven: 41-34 at the end of three quarters. Lexington Catholic outscored LCA 22-14 in the final period to pull away for the victory.
Lexington Catholic shot 55% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Knights connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 38.6% from the field including four of 19 from beyond the arc. LCA only shot 25% from the field in the first half but shot 55% in the second half. The Eagles connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Scott Schuette led Lexington Catholic with 32 points including six three point baskets. Schuette was 11 of 17 from the field including six of 10 from beyond the arc, and four of four from the free throw line. Craig Floyd added 15 points on seven of seven from the field and one of two from the free throw line. Taylor Martin recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and five steals.
Taylor Barnette led LCA with 22 points including three three point baskets and pulled down nine rebounds. 5-11 So. Tyler Harville added nine points and 6-4 Sr. Max Barjuca chipped in with eight points and eight rebounds.
