Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Jr. Emily johns, 6-0 Jr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 So. Octavia Wilson. Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands countered with 6-0 Jr. Kristen Jacob, 5-7 Fr. Katelin Bundy, 5-11 Sr. Kelli Rhineheart, 5-5 Sr. Rachel cox, and 5-5 So. Kelli Mitchuson.
Lexington Christian defeated Lexington Catholic 70-55 tonight to improve their record to 4-0. LCA shot 39.3% from the field including seven of 22 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 15 of 27 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 32.8% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 LCA turnovers.
Kelli Mitchuson led a balanced LCA attack with 15 points and dished out nine assists. Kristen Jacob added 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Kelli Rhineheart chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds. Kaetlin Bundy recorded 13 points including three three point baskets. Rachel Cox added six points, five assists, and seven steals.
Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 15 points and 12 rebounds. 5-4 So. Sarah Cawood added 13 points including three three point baskets. Octavia Wilson recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.
