Paris coach Geoff Cody started the following lineup: Bentley Enlow, Davi Stanley, Aaron Jacobs, Davion Griggs, and Jai Cloud.  Newport coach Rod Snapp countered with 5-11 Jr. Andrew Merrill, 5-9 Jr. Ron Rice, 6-3 Sr. K’Ron Covington, 5-7 Sr. Eli Hambrick, and 5-8 Sr. Travis Jones.

Newport outscored Paris 18-8 in the third quarter on their way to a 62-55 victory.  Paris led 30-25 at halftime but Newport rallied for the victory.  Newport shot 49% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Wildcats connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Paris turnovers.  Paris shot 40% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Greyhounds connected on nine of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 Newport turnovers.

Travis Jones led Newport with 13 points including two three point baskets and pulled down five rebounds.  5-8 so. Daylin Garland added 11 points and K’Ron Covington chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.  Ron Rice and Andrew Merrill recorded nine points each and six and five rebounds respectively.

Aaron Jacobs led Paris with 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Davion Griggs and Davi Stanley added 13 and 10 points respectively.
