Wayne County coach Tim Pyles started the following lineup: Jr. TaShea Pyles, So. Hallie Gillespie, Jr. Samantha Sexton, Jr. Kourtney Criswell, and Sr. Kayla Bowlin.  Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning countered with 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Jr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Jr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 So. Octavia Wilson.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 19-4 first quarter lead on their way to a 61-44 victory over Wayne County.  Lexington Catholic shot 54.2% from the field including three of four from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on six of 15 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 23 Wayne County turnovers.  Wayne County shot 35.7% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulleddown 27 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 21 points and five rebounds.  Octavia Wilson added 13 points and 10 assists.  Emily Johns recorded 11 points and seven rebounds.

Hallie Gillespie and Samantha Sexton led Wayne County with 11 and 10 points respectively.  Kayla Bowlin added nine points and five assists.
