Lafayette (5-9)  vs.  Lexington Catholic (12-2)

Lafayette coach Greg Coldiron started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Nick Trisko, 6-3 So. Tranard Chester, 6-7 Fr. Jackson Davis, 5-8 Fr. Charles “Snoop” Johnson, and 5-11 Sr. Jalen Wilkerson.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin, 6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette, 6-5 Jr. Craig Floyd, 5-10 Jr. Bryan Woomer, and 6-0 Sr. Seth Beckham.

Lexington Catholic led 39-33 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for an 81-58 victory over Lafayette.  Lafayette’s chances of a comeback were hampered in the third quarter at the 3:27 mark of the third quarter.  Jackson Davis, who had played well to that point received his fourth foul then was assessed a technical foul on the play, which gave him his fifth and final foul.  Jackson only played 15:02 minutes tonight.

Lexington Catholic shot 50.8% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 14 of 26 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 25 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 38.5% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 16 Lexington catholic turnovers.

Taylor Martin led Lexington Catholic with 28 points.  Martin was 11 of 16 from the field including one of two from beyond the arc and five of seven from the free throw line.  Scott Schuette added 19 points including three three point baskets.  Seth Beckham chipped in with 12 points and five assists.

6-1 Sr. Dee Yarbrough led Lafayette with 20 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Jackson Davis added 16 points and eight rebounds.  William Johnson chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
