Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Sr. Taylor Martin, 6-4 Sr. Scott Schuette, 6-5 Jr. Craig Floyd, 5-10 Jr. Bryan Woomer, and 6-0 Sr. Seth Beckham.  Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden countered with 6-4 Sr. Marcellus Barksdale, 6-0 Jr. Darius Gibson, 6-2 Sr. Todd Bradley, 5-11 Sr. Kendale Mack, and 6-2 Sr. Ryan Fucci.

Lexington Catholic defeated Tates Creek 46-45 in the latest chapter of classics played between these two teams this year.  The two teams have split this season with each team claiming a road victory.  Laxington Catholic’s Taylor Martin calmly hit two free throws with 7.5 seconds remaining on the clock.  Tates Creek had a chance but a shot with the clock running out failed to connect.

Lexington Catholic shot 38.1% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 40.5% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Scott Schuette led Lexington Catholic with 19 points including two three point baskets.  Schuette has always been known as a long range bomber but has demonstrated the ability to pull the ball on the floor and get to the rim.  Taylor Martin added 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Craig Floyd chipped in with six points.

Ryan Fucci led Tates Creek with 19 points including three three point baskets.  Marcellus Barksdale added 10 points and nine rebounds.  6-4 So. Braxton McFarland chipped in withsix points.
