Sayre coach Ted Hall started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Reid Freeman, 5-9 Sr. Griffin Miller, 6-6 So. Ray Brewer, 5-10 Sr. Cabot Haggin, and 5-9 So. Mike Smith. Scott County countered with 6-4 Jr. Tamron Manning, 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-4 Sr. Tamron Manning, 5-10 So. Quin Richardson, and 6-1 Jr. Josh Harris.
Scott County raced out to a 23-11 first quarter lead on their way to an 87-67 victory over Sayre. Scott County shot 46.8% from the field including six of 22 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 34 points off 18 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 47.1% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 12 Scott County turnovers.
Isaiah Ivey led a balanced Scott County scoring attack with 16 points and eight rebounds. Tanner Shotwell added 13 points and seven rebounds. Tamron Manning recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Quin Richardson chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds and 5-11 Fr. Trent Gilbert also reached double figures with 10 points.
Mike Smith le Sayre with 20 points, five assists, and three steals. Ray Brewer added 14 points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots. 6-3 Sr. Griffin Patterson and Griffin Miller chipped in with 12 and 11 points respectively.
