Montgomery County coach Keith Griesser started the following lineup: 6-4 So. Omar Prewitt, 6-1 Sr. Seth Dotson, 6-2 Sr. Andrew Mullins, 5-9 Jr. Jake Handshoe, and 5-10 Jr. Brandon Fruth. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Trae Stewart, 6-0 Sr. Kendrick Prewitt, 6-4 Fr. Jordan Green, 6-0 Sr. Brandon Nichols, and 5-8 Jr. Wes Kimball.
Henry Clay trailed 29-16 in the second quarter but rallied to edge out Montgomery County by a score of 66-64. Wes Kimball hit a three point shot in the closing second to give the Blue Devils the victory. Henry Clay shot 37.1% from the field including seven of 20 from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 13 Montgomery County turnovers.
Montgomery County shot 45.6% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored seven points off eight Henry Clay turnovers.
Brandon Nichols led Henry Clay with 19 points including two three point baskets. Kendrick Prewitt added 16 points including two three point baskets. Wes Kimball chipped in with 11 points. Trae Stewart pulled down 10 rebounds.
Omar Prewitt led Montgomery County with 24 points including four three point baskets and pulled down 16 rebounds. Jake Handshoe added 16 points including two three point baskets. Andrew Mullins chipped in with 10 points.
