Wayne County coach Tim Pyles started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Hallie Gillespie, 5-10 Jr. TaShea Pyles, 5-8 Jr. Samantha Sexton, 5-7 Jr. Kourtney Criswell, and 5-4 Sr. Kayla Bowlin.  Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning countered with 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin. 5-10 Jr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Jr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 So. Octavia Wilson.  Note: Soph. Octavia Wilson was honored tonight for scoring her 1,000th career point in an earlier game against Covington Holy Cross.

Lexington Catholic led 32-31 at halftime and earned a hard fought 73-60 victory over Wayne County.  Lexington Catholic shot 42.6% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 22 of 25 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 14 Wayne county turnovers.  Wayne County shot 43.1% from the field including seven of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 15 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including nine of 10 from the free throw line, pulled down 13 rebounds, and dished out six assists.  Octavia Wilson also scored 17 points, dished out four assists, and recorded three steals.  Emily Johns recorded 16 points, five rebounds, and three steals.

TaShea Pyles led Wayne County with 17 points including five three point baskets.  Hallie Gillespie also recorded 17 points.  Kayla Bowlin recorded 16 points, six assists, and three steals.
