Bryan Station (23-6)  vs.  Franklin County (20-11)

 

Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Serena Sandusky, 5-7 Sr. Tori Clark, 6-0 Sr. Amber Crumbie, 5-7 Sr. Marissa Prince, and 5-6 Sr. Carrington Caise.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-11 Jr. Ashli Mayes, 5-8 Sr. Lacinda Hack, 5-10 Sr. Chelsea Brown, 5-4 Fr. Nannilena White, and 5-11 Sr. Chelsea Rivers.

 

Bryan Station defeated Franklin County by a score of 71-59.  Bryan Station led 47-25 in the third quarter but Franklin County rallied to cut the deficit to eight; 67-59 with 56 seconds left in the game but could not pull any closer.  The teams were whistled for a total of 53 fouls (27 called on Bryan Station and 26 against Franklin County).  Franklin County attempted 41 free throws and Bryan Station attempted 38 from the charity stripe.  Bryan Station was guilty of 28 turnovers while Franklin County turned the ball over 23 times.

 

Bryan Station shot 44% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on 21 of 38 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 23 Franklin County turnovers.  Franklin County shot 34.7% from the field including zero of two from beyond the arc.  The Lady Flyers connected on 25 of 41 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 28 Bryan Station turnovers.

 

Carrington Caise led Bryan Station with 20 points including two three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.  Serena Sandusky added 18 points including two three point baskets and recorded four rebounds, four assists, and eight steals.  Amber Crumbie and 6-1 So. Hallie Crumbie each pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Lacinda Hack led Franklin County with 17 points and six rebounds.  Ashli Mayes added 14 points, seven rebounds, and eight steals.  Chelsea Brown chipped in with 12 points.

Lexington Catholic (19-11)  vs.  Madison Central (20-9)

 

Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Jr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Jr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 So. Octavia Wilson.  Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey countered with 5-11 So. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Sr. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Jr. Kristin Congleton, 5-5 So. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Erika Parks.

 

Madison Central defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 61-49.  Madison Central led 50-47 with four minutes left in the game and spread the floor allowing Larryn Brooks to score on drives to the basket.  Madison Central did a great job defending Soph star Octavia Wilson holding her to three points.

 

Madison Central shot 42% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 14 of 25 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Laxington Catholic shot 39.1% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Jenna Cornelison led Madison Central with 16 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  Larryn Brooks also scored 16 points including eight points in the final quarter.  Ashton Feldhaus recorded 15 points including three three point baskets and pulled down six rebounds.

 

Alex Botkin had a “monster” game for Lexington Catholic with 22 points, 17 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-9 8th grader Rachel Blake added 12 points and seven rebounds.
