Lafayette (19-13)  vs.  Scott County (18-10) (Semifinal)

 

Lafayette coach Allison Tate Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Sarah Cooley, 5-7 Jr. Emily Justice, 6-2 Sr. Shomari Kendrick, 5-5 Jr. Sarah Martin, and 5-2 Sr. Jariana Gillespie.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 Sr. Kristen Stainback, 5-11 Fr. Tereka Guyn, 5-10 Sr. Alex McKenzie, 5-6 Fr. Audriana Christopher, and 5-6 Jr. Ally Conrad.

 

Lafayette led 40-25 in the third quarter but Scott County rallied to earn a 59-52 victory.  Lafayette led 50-46 with 3;06 left in the game.  Scott County took a 51-50 lead on a basket by Kristen Stainback with 1:38 left in the game.  The Lady Cardinals then recorded a steal and two free throws by Audriana Christopher to take a 53-50 lead.  They hit their free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory.  Scott County trailed 40-25 with 5:15 left in the third quarter but closed out the period on a 19-5 run to cut the deficit to one; 45-44 entering the final quarter.

 

Scott County shot 30.5% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 21 of 25 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 34.5% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Scott County turnovers.  Lafayette held a 19-6 advantage in second effort points.

 

Kristen Stainback led Scott County with 22 points including nine of 12 from the free throw line.  Audriana Christopher added 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Alex McKenzie recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds.

 

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 16 points and 11 rebounds.  Jariana Gillespie added 13 points and five rebounds.  Emily Justice recorded seven points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Shomari Kendrick pulled down 11 rebounds in 18:54 of playing time as she was limited to 3:22 minutes in the first half due to early foul problems.

Madison Central (21-9)  vs.  Bryan Station (24-6) (Semifinal)

 

Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Sr. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Jr. Kristin Congleton, 5-5 So. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Erika Parks.  Bryan Station coach Karra Jackson countered with 5-8 So. Serena Sandusky, 5-7 Sr. Tori Clark, 6-0 Sr. Amber Crumbie, 5-7 Sr. Marissa Prince, and 5-6 Sr. Carrington Caise.

 

Madison Central defeated Bryan Station by a score of 67-57.  Madison Central led 24-6 early in the second quarter but Bryan Station rallied to trail 29-23 at halftime.  Bryan Station only trailed 46-42 early in the final quarter but Jenna Cornelison scored 10 points in the final quarter to lead the Lady Indians to victory.

 

Madison Central shot 52.3% from the field including one of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 20 of 33 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 10 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 37.7% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Jenna Cornelison led Madison Central with 23 points and six rebounds.  Larryn Brooks added 20 points including 10 of 14 free throws and dished out seven assists.  Kristin Congleton came up big tonight with eight points and 13 rebounds.

 

Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 19 points.  Carrington Caise added 12 points.  Marissa Prince recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Amber Crumbie pulled down nine rebounds.
