Madison Central coach Robbie Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-11 So. Ashton Feldhaus, 5-9 Sr. Jenna Cornelison, 5-10 Jr. Kristin Congleton, 5-5 So. Larryn Brooks, and 5-6 Sr. Erika Parks. Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 5-10 Sr. Kristen Stainback, 5-11 Fr. Tereka Guyn, 5-10 Sr. Alex McKenzie, 5-6 Fr. Audriana Christopher, and 5-6 Jr. Ally Conrad.
Madison Central defeated Scott County 85-72 tonight to capture thr 11th region championship. Madison Central shot 47.1% from the field including six of 13 from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on 31 of 44 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 44.8% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on 16 of 23 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored four points off six Madison Central turnovers. Scott County was plagued with foul problems tonight and Kristen Stainback and Audriana Christopher fouled out of the game.
Larryn Brooks had a phenomenal game tonight with 31 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Brooks was 11 of 17 from the field and nine of 11 from the free throw line. Brooks was virtually impossible to defend on penetration to the basket. Jenna Cornelison added 21 points including 11 of 13 free throws and pulled down six rebounds. Ashton Feldhaus chipped in with 14 points including two three point baskets. Kristin Congleton was again the unsung hero of the team as she recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Kristen Stainback capped off a great career at Scott County and led the Lady Cardinals tonight with 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Alex McKenzie added nine points and seven rebounds. Audriana Christopher chipped in with nine points and five rebounds.
