JULY 17-21 BLUE-CHIP CAMP PRESS RELEASE

6-1 senior, James “Woo” Brown out of Trotwood Madison (OH) was selected the MVP for the July 17-21 “Blue-Chip” Camp at Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.  The camp’s Runner-Up MVP

was 6-7 senior wing, Jauan Akins from Radcliff North Hardin (KY).  Two Kentuckians shared Best Underclassmen-6-5 sophomore Justin Johnson (Inez Sheldon Clark, KY) and 5-10 8th grader Braxton Beverly (Hazard Perry Co. Central, KY).  Two other 8th graders who were selected to the two high school all-star games were 6-2 Yalen Reed (Antioch Lighthouse Christian, TN) and 6-2 Chris Drabo (Louisville Johnson Middle School, KY).  All three 8th graders (Beverly, Reed and Drabo) are destined for the big time.  High flying A.D. Rogers, a 6-2 senior out of Lilburn Berkmar, GA) was the camp’s Slam Dunk champion.  Rogers also made the Top 20 All-Star game.  Two legitimate sleepers were 6-8 senior, Aaron Murray, who will either attend Louisville Ballard or Eastern (KY) in the fall after being home school last year and 6-3 junior, Randall Pickett out of Louisville Southern, KY.   6-1 senior, Warren Jones (Sandoval, IL); 6-4 senior Jared Dehm (Peoria Richwoods, IL); 5-9 senior point Aaron Edwards (Payson Seymour, IL); 6-7 senior, Justin Warren (Crawfordsville North Montgomery, IN) and 5-10 junior Sean Howard (Indianapolis Lawrence North, IN) also had impressive performances.

The top players in the “Junior Blue-Chip” Division were 6-0 8th grader, Quentin Goodin of Campbellsville Taylor Co. Middle School (KY); 5-11 8th grader Brad Hall from Milford Middle School (OH)

and 5-8 8th grader, Centerius Lyons from Smyrna Rock Springs Middle School (TN).

Around 300 players nationwide attended the July 17-21 session for the 32nd annual High Potential “Blue-Chip” Camp.
