Franklin County Scott Chalk started the following lineup; 6-3 So. Chris Roberts, 6-3 Jr. Logan Woodside, 6-5 Sr. Garrett Hamilton, 6-3 Sr. Eric Meyer, and 5-11 Jr. Ryan Timmons. Woodford County coach Scott Hundley countered with 6-4 Sr. Addison Hollin, 6-2 Sr. William Starcher, 6-4 Sr. David Greenwell, 5-10 So. Eli Boggess, and 6-1 Sr. Rodney Gross.
Franklin County eked out a 58-56 victory over Woodford County tonight. Woodford County led 28-16 in the second quarter but Franklin County rallied to cut the deficit to five; 33-28 at halftime. The third quarter was all Franklin County as they outscored Woodford County 18-9 to take a 46-42 lead entering the final quarter. There were four ties and three lead changes between these two evely matched opponents.
Franklin County shot 54.3% from the field including zero of four from the three point line. The Flyers connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 13 Woodford County turnovers. Woodford County shot 567.8% from the field including four of 14 from beyond the arc. The Jackets connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Franklin County turnovers.
Garrett Hamilton led Franklin County with 18 points. Chris Roberts added 12 points and six rebounds. Ryan Timmons also reached double figures with 10 points.
Rodney Gross led Woodford County with 16 points. Gross was five of six from the field including one of one from the three point line and five of seven from the free throw line. 6-2 Jr. Landon Young and David Greenwell added 11 and nine points respectively. Addison Hollin and Eli Boggess each recorded eight points and Hollin pulled down nine rebounds.
