Dixie Heights coach Ken Chevalier started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Juwan Evans, 6-0 Sr. Jordan Hassel, 6-5 Sr. Parker Stansberry, 6-1 So. Joe Fox, and 6-2 So. Brandon Hatton. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer.
Lexington Catholic led 61-54 with 2:39 left in the game but Dixie Heights pressing defense allowed the Colonels to finish the game with a 13-0 run and capture a 67-61 victory over Lexington Catholic. Dixie Heights shot 41.4% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 14 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 41.1% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on eight of 13 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Dixie Heights turnovers.
Jordan Hassel led Dixie Heights with 14 points and seven rebounds. Brandon Hatton also recorded 14 points and dished out seven assists. Parker Stansberry recorded 12 points. Juwan Evans, Joe Fox, and 5-11 Sr. Paul Wigger each scored nine points.
Jack Whitman had a ‘monster” game for Lexington Catholic with 23 points and 20 rebounds. Craig Floyd and Patrick Keller with 14 and 12 points respectively.
