Woodford County coach Scott Hundley started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Addison Hollin, 6-1 Sr. William Starcher, 6-4 Sr. David Greenwell, 5-10 So. Eli Boggess, and 6-1 Sr. Rodney Gross.  Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 Jr. Tom Banahan, 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 6-8 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer.

Lexington Catholic defeated Woodford County by a score of 68-58 tonight.  This was a game within a game as Coach Brandon Salsman’s LexCath Knights utilized their size inside with Jack Whitman and Tom Banahan to take a 44-25 lead at halftime.  Woodford County is currently without the services of 6-7 Sr. Jay Johnson who is recovering from an ACL injury.  Coach Hundley rallied his troops and actually cut the margin to six; 47-41 late in the third quarter.  Lexington Catholic was able to extend the margin in the final quarter to earn the victory.

Lexington Catholic shot 57.1% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 17 of 26 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 44.4% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Jackets connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 19 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 25 points and six rebounds.  Whitman was eight of nine from the field and nine of 11 from the free throw line.  Tom Banahan added 16 points and nine rebounds.  6-4 Fr. Reese Ryan had an impressive outing with eight points and four rebounds.  Bryan Woomer scored seven points and dished out 13 assists.

David Greenwell led Woodford County with 19  points.  Eli Boggess and Rodney Gross added 13 and 10 points respectively.  William Starcher recorded eight points and seven rebounds.
