Paul L. Dunbar’s coach Justin Yeary started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Jamal Adu Peasah, 6-1 Jr. William Gary, 6-6 Jr. Taylor King, 5-10 So. Connor McHugh, and 5-10 Jr. Mike Smith. Lexington Christian Academy coach Tommy Huston countered with 6-2 Sr. Travis Branham, 6-1 Sr. Patrick Nickodem, 6-3 Jr. Jon Lannertone, 5-8 Jr. Tyler Harville, and 6-2 Sr. Taylor Barnette.
LCA trailed 53-51 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Dunbar by a score of 81-69. LCA shot 47.5% from the field including nine of 18 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 16 of 19 from the free throw line, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 11 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 51% from the field including seven of 14 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on 12 of 22 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 11 points off six LCA turnovers.
Taylor Barnette led LCA with 25 points including three three point baskets and pulled down nine rebounds. Tyler Harville added 24 points including four three point baskets. Jon Lannertone chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds.
William Gary led Dunbar with 30 points including four three point baskets. Mike Smith added 15 points including three three point baskets. Taylor King chipped in with 11 points.
