Ballard coach Steve Kaufman started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Kiana Richardson, 5-7 Sr. Daryius Franklin, 6-0 So. Javonna Layfield, 5-4 So. Amherry Watkins, and 5-5 Sr. Melena Shanklin.  Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir countered with 5-9 So. DaiJia Ruffin, 5-6 So. Raven Merriweather, 6-1 Sr. Jazmin Smith, 5-6 Jr. Kristin Matula, and 5-6 Sr. Jade Tubb.

Sacred Heart defeated Ballard 56-46 to improve their record to 5-1 and hand the Lady Bruins (5-1) their first loss of the season.  Sacred Heart shot 47.8% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on seven of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 24 Ballard turnovers.  Ballard shot 39.6% from the field including zero of one from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bruins connected on four of 18 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 23 Sacred Heart turnovers.

Raven Merriweather led Sacred Heart with 16 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, three blocked shots, and three steals.  DaiJia Ruffin added 12 points and six rebounds.  Jade Tubb chipped in with nine points.

Javonna Layfield led Ballard with 18 points, 22 rebounds, and four steals.  Amherry Watkins added eight points and six steals.
