Elizabethtown  vs.  Breckinridge County (Girls)

National Guard Holiday Classic

December 30, 2011

 

Elizabethtown coach Tim Mudd started the following lineup: 5-11 8th grader Erin Boley, 5-8 Sr. Tara Gilpin, 5-9 Sr. Darian Ditto, 5-8 Jr. Anna Bowling, and 5-10 Sr. Kaylyn Cecil.  Breckinridge County coach Raymond Critchelow countered with 5-9 Sr.  Julie Whitfill, 5-9 Sr. Caitlin Carman, 5-10 So. Jenna Thornhill, 5-6 Fr. Emma Payne, and 5-1 Jr. Brooke Kennedy.

Elizabethtown defeated Breckinridge County by a score of 53-33.  Elizabethtown shot 43.9% from the field including two of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Panthers connected on 15 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Breckinridge County turnovers.  Breckinridge County shot 33.3% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  They connected on five of 13 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored five points off 10 Elizabethtown turnovers.

Erin Boley led Elizabethtown with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Kaylyn Cecil added 10 points.

Julie Whitfill led Breckinridge County with 20 points.  Jenna Thornhill added nine points and five rebounds.
