Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 5-10 Sr. Ross Muncy, 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer. (Note: 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd is out with an injury). Lexington Christian Academy coach Tommy Huston countered with 6-3 Jr. Jon Lannertone, 6-2 Jr. Taylor Blair, 6-5 Fr. Matt Rose, 5-8 Jr. Tyler Harville, and 6-1 Sr. Patrick Nickodem. (Note: 6- Sr. Taylor Barnette is out with an injury).
Lexington Christian Academy defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 61-57. LCA took control of the game with a 16-4 advantage in the third quarter and increased the lead to 51-40 in the final period before LexCath staged a rally to make it close. LCA shot 47.7% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 52.6% from the field including 10 of 19 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine LCA turnovers.
Patrick Nickodem led LCA with 27 points including five three point baskets. Tyler Harville added 17 points including eight of eight from the free throw line. Jon Lannertone chipped in with 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 17 points and eight rebounds. Dillon Avare added 17 points including five three point baskets. Avare was six of eight from the field including five of seven from the three point line. Patrick Keller recorded 11 points including three three point baskets. Bryan Woomer chipped in with seven points and eight assists.
