Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Quan Taylor, 6-1 Sr. John O’Bryan, 6-6 Sr. Hunter Allen, 6-1 Jr. Ken-Jah Bosley, and 6-1 Jr. Dominique Hawkins. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-6 So. Trey Grundy, 6-4 So. Jordan Green, 6-5 Jr. Darien Tichenor, 5-8 Sr. Wes Kimball, and 5-11 So. Christen Cunningham.
Henry Clay defeated Madison Central by a score of 64-49 and handed Madison Central (22-1) their first loss of the year. Henry Clay took control of the game with an 18-5 first quarter. Madison Central battled and pulled to within six; 45-39 late in the third quarter but could not close the gap. The game started 30 minutes late due to the Henry Clay student section throwing baby powder on the floor which required an extensive cleanup to allow the game to be played. Madison Central could never find the range tonight as they were a dismal 27.3% from the field.
Henry Clay shot 44.1% from the field including two of nine from the three point line. The Blue Devils connected on 10 of 17 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 10 Madison Central turnovers. Madison central shot 27.3% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off seven Henry Clay turnovers.
Jordan Green led a balanced Henry Clay scoring attack with 16 points. Christen Cunningham added 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists. 6-1 Sr. Alex Blackburn chipped in with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Wes Kimball and Trey Grundy reached double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. Darien Tichenor pulled down eight rebounds and blocked six shots.
Dominique Hawkins led Madison Central with 21 points. Quan Taylor added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
