Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin, 6-0 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 Jr. Octavia Wilson.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 So. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 Fr. Dee Givens, 6-3 Fr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-5 Sr. Sarah Martin, and 5-6 So. Shirlisa Demus.  Note: 5-6 So. Ken’yale Demus is out with an injury.

Lexington Catholic led 14-4 after the first quarter on their way to a 53-26 victory over Lafayette.  The veteran Lady Knights scored 23 points off a talented but inexperienced Lafayette team’s 26 turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 32.3% from the field including four of 24 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on nine of 14 free throws and pulled down 37 rebounds.  Lafayette shot 23.9% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored two points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 19 points and five steals.  Botkin was eight of 12 from the field and three of three from the free throw line.  Octavia Wilson added 14 points, six assists, and four steals.  Emily Johns pulled down eight rebounds.

Ashanti Thomas led Lafayette with 10 points, 15 rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  Sarah Martin added five points and Sarah Cooley pulled down 10 rebounds.  5-7 Sr. Emily Justice chipped in with four points and seven rebounds.
