Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Patrick Keller, 6-5 Sr. Craig Floyd, 6-9 Jr. Jack Whitman, 5-10 Jr. Dillon Avare, and 5-10 Sr. Bryan Woomer.  Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko, 6-7 Jr. Ethan Burlingham, 6-8 So. Jackson Davis, 6-0 So. Lance Blakley, and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester.

Lexington Catholic pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Lafayette by a score of 72-60.  Lafayette led 51-49 late in the third quarter but Lexington Catholic scored four straight points to take a 53-51 lead after three quarters.  Lexington Catholic outscored Lafayette 19-9 in the final quarter.

Lexington Catholic shot 48.1% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 34.8% from the field including six of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Generals connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Jack Whitman led Lexington Catholic with 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Whitman was 12 of 17 from the field and five of seven from the free throw line.  Craig Floyd added 25 points including five three point baskets and eight rebounds.  Patrick Keller chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.  Bryan Woomer recorded six rebounds and 11 assists.

Tranard Chester led Lafayette with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Jackson Davis added 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Nick Trisko added 12 points and five rebounds.

Lexington Catholic (72) – Keller 9, Floyd 25, Whitman 29, Avare 4, Woomer 2, Banahan 3.

 

Lafayette  (60) – Trisko 12, Burlingham 2, Davis 12, Blakley 6, Chester 16, Sweat-Washington 8, Wright 2, Jeter 2.
