Sayre coach Scotty Sutton started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Maddie Mitchell, 5-7 So. Grace Rahman, 6-3 Fr. Gabby Bowie, 5-5 Sr. Sophie O’Rourke, and 5-7 So. Hayden White.  Deming coach Thomas Mitchell countered with 5-9 Sr. Kelsey Carmack, 5-8 Fr. Samantha Woerner, 5-11 Jr. Krista Smithers, 5-3 Fr. Lacey Mitchell, and 5-8 Sr. Jessica Mitchell.

Sayre led 29-26 after three quarters but Deming rallied for a 41-38 victory.  Deming shot 35.4% from the field including two of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Devils connected on five of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 17 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 34.9% from the field including four of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on four of six free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored five points off eight Deming turnovers.

Jessica Mitchell led Deming with 11 points and six rebounds.  Krista Smithers added nine points and eight rebounds.  Lacey Mitchell also scored nine points.  Kelsey Carmack recorded seven points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

Maddie Mitchell led Sayre with 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Sophie O’Rourke added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Gabby Bowie recorded nine points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
