Bryan Station vs. Lafayette

Bryan Station coach Mike Allen started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Marcus Williams, 6-2 So. Daquice Allen, 6-3 Sr. Omari Sweat, 5-11 Jr. Tyler Smith, and 6-1 Sr. Jaylen Beckham. Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-7 Jr. Ethan Burlingham, 6-8 Jr. Nick Trisko, 6-8 So. Jackson Davis, 6-0 So. Lance Blakley, and 6-3 Jr. Tranard Chester.
Nick Trisko scored on a field goal with two seconds remaining in the game to give Lafayette a 69-67 victory over Bryan Station. Lafayette led 57-44 after three quarters but Bryan Station rallied to actually take the lead before Lafayette rallied for the victory. Rebounding was Bryan Station’s downfall tonight as Lafayette held a 22-3 advantage on the offensive boards and a 21-0 advantage on second effort points.
Lafayette shot 37.3% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line. The Generals connected on 15 of 25 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 18 points ff 14 Bryan Station turnovers. Bryan Station shot 51.9% from the field including seven of 14 from beyond the arc. The Defenders connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 15 Lafayette turnovers.
Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 18 points and eight rebounds. Tranard Chester added 13 points and eight rebounds. Lance Blakley chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets and four assists. Nick Trisko recorded nine points, seven rebounds, and four assists. 6-7 Jr. Charles Sweat-Washington added eight points and 11 rebounds and 6-5 Fr. Shon Wright scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds.
Jaylen Beckham led Bryan Station with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Marcus Williams added 14 points including three three point baskets and eight rebounds and dished out four assists. 5-7 So. Marcellus Washington chipped in with 12 points including two three point baskets. 6-2 Jr. Kenyon Hipps also reached double figures with 10 points.
