Williamstown coach Kasey Kennedy started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Alex Prokopachak, 5-6 Sr. Emma Harris, 5-10 Sr. Susan Northcutt, 5-6 8th grader Rachel Montgomery, and 5-6 Sr. Carlie Fossitt. Sayre coach Scotty Sutton countered with 6-0 Sr. Maddie Mitchell, 5-7 So. Grace Rahman, 6-3 Fr. Gabby Bowie, 5-5 Sr. Sophie O’Rourke, and 5-7 So. Hayden White.
Sayre took a 13-4 first quarter lead on their way to a 45-33 victory over Williamstown. Sayre shot 37.1% from the field including two of eight from the three point line. The Lady Spartans connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 23 Williamstown turnovers. Williamstown shot 23.1% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Demons connected on eight of nine free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 19 Sayre turnovers. Williamstown attempted 17 more shots (52-35) from the field than Sayre.
Maddie Mitchell led Sayre with 18 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Gabby Bowie added 13 points, 12 rebounds, and eight blocked shots.
Susan Northcutt led Williamstown with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Alex Prokopachak added eight points and three steals. Carlie Fossitt pulled down nine rebounds.
