Walton-Verona coach Mark Clinkenbeard started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Molly Clinkenbeard, 5-11 Jr. Courtney Sandlin, 6-0 Jr. Michele Judy, 5-5 Sr. Jenalee Ginn, and 5-5 Sr. Kara Taulbee.  Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning countered with 6-0 Sr. Alex Botkin. 6-0 Sr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Sr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-8 Sr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-9 Jr. Octavia Wilson.

Walton-Verona shot a sizzling 71.4% from the field (10 of 14) in the second half to break open a close game and defeat Lexington Catholic 57-41.  The Bearcats also sizzled from the free throw line connecting on 18 of 20 (90%) free throws after the intermission.  Both teams were ice cold from the field in the first half as Walton-Verona was 28.6% from the field and Lexington Catholic was 22.2% in the first half as Walton-Verona took a 15-11 lead at the intermission.

Walton-Verona shot 45.7% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Bearcats connected on 21 of 25 from the free throw line, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 29.2% from the field including nine of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Walton-Verona turnovers.

Kara Taulbee led Walton-Verona with 13 points including three three point baskets.  Courtney Sandlin added 11 points and eight rebounds.  Michele Judy chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Molly Clinkenbeard and 5-6 Sr. Katie Slavey recorded eight and seven points respectively.

Octavia Wilson led Lexington Catholic with 13 points including four three point baskets.  Alex Botkin added nine points, seven rebounds, and five steals.
