Lexington Christian Academy coach Jason Seamands started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Katelin Bundy, 5-7 Jr. Kristin Rinehart, 6-1 Sr. Kristen Jacob, 5-4 Sr. Kelli Mitchuson, and 5-6 8th grader Hannah Hartley. Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 So. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 Fr. Dee Givens, 6-3 Fr. Ashanti Thomas, 5-7 Sr. Emily Justice, and 5-6 So. Ken’yale Demus.
Lafayette raced out to a 34-16 halftime lead on their way to a 66-45 victory over Lexington Christian Academy. Lafayette shot 40.7% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Generals connected on 12 of 25 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 21 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 37% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on seven of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.
Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Ken’yale Demus added 16 points including three three point baskets. Dee Givens chipped in with 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists. 5-7 Sr. Aleisha Stiltner also reached double figures with 11 points and five rebounds. Emily Justice and Ashanti Thomas pulled down seven rebounds each.
Katelin Bundy led LCA with 18 points including two three point baskets. Kristen Jacob added 13 points and six rebounds.
