Wayne County coach Rodney Woods stared the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Kyle Gehring, 6-0 Jr. Dagan Shelton, 6-1 8th grader Corey Stearns, 5-10 8th grader Trey Blevins, and 5-10 So. Jason Perkins. West Jessamine coach Damon Kelley countered with 6-2 So. Daulton Peters, 6-2 Jr. Robby Irgang, 6-3 Jr. Chase Fain, 6-1 Sr. Heath Jackson, and 6-1 Sr. Jeff Ziemann.
Wayne County led West Jessamine 27-22 at halftime but the Colts rallied in the second half to defeat Wayne County by a score of 67-60. West Jessamine shot 40.4% from the field including zero of 12 from the three point line. The Colts connected on 29 of 34 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 29 Wayne County turnovers. Wayne County shot 42.3% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Cardinals connected on 10 of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 23 West Jessamine turnovers.
Heath Jackson led West Jessamine with 21 points including nine of 11 free throws. Chase Fain added 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Daulton Peters chipped in with 13 points, and three steals. Jeff Ziemann recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
Kyle Gehring led Wayne county with 17 points including three three point baskets. Corey Stearns also recorded 17 points. Trey Blevins added eight points. Jason Perkins chipped in with seven points, five rebounds, and five steals.
